Come on in, the Water’s Fine: Assisted Living Brings Peace of Mind

Life’s transitions have a way of making us uneasy—especially during the later chapters. So, why not get some peace of mind?

We always say, “Check us out, stop in for a tour, or join one of our community events.” We encourage visitors to experience firsthand how different assisted living has become.

Find Senior Living Near Me.

The environment, the staff, and the residents in assisted living communities are not the same as they were decades ago. Senior living has come a long way, but you might need to see it firsthand to appreciate it fully.

What’s Included in Assisted Living?

The best part of assisted living, which is not widely advertised in brochures, is the friends you make. Between your neighbors and the staff, Edgewood is all about friendships!

What’s a Typical Day Like?

The best part of a typical day in assisted living is that you can choose what your day looks like! If you like group activities, great; if not, we won’t bug you.

If you’re a late sleeper, you can enjoy your extra rest when you move in with us. You don’t have to follow the daily programming schedule if you prefer to enjoy other pastimes. You can chart your course.

Can I Go Away for the Weekend?

You sure can. Whether you want to spend a night having a sleepover with your grandchildren or you want to fly to Las Vegas for the weekend, you can come and go as you wish.

If you don’t require daily care or assistance during the overnight hours, consider our 55+ or independent living options. These offer apartments and some of the same services as assisted living, such as meal plans and activities. Garages, reserved parking, and on-site healthcare are options for 55+ or independent living apartments.

Can My Family Visit at Any Time?

Families are always welcome to see you! There are even discounted meals for family or friends if they want to join you at mealtime. It’s helpful if they call ahead to let us know they’re coming, but we’re always flexible because Edgewood is your home!

There’s no need to give up on family traditions and celebrations because you’ve downsized into an apartment. If you’d like to have a family event at Edgewood, we have designated places for you to entertain.

Reserving space in advance is important to ensure that spaces are available for all our residents and their loved ones. Birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays are still important and can be celebrated if you move into senior living.

What If I’m Not Sure?

Edgewood offers short-term stays so residents can join us for a week, a month, or a season. Those who opt for a short-term stay get the same services as assisted living residents without signing a formal lease. This is a great option for those with family caring for them and their caregivers who must leave town or be away for a while. If you’re interested, contact us at info@edgewoodhealthcare.com to learn more.
