For nearly 70 years, Annette and LeRoy Wiskow have shared a life filled with adventure, laughter, and love. From raising a family to traveling across the country, their story is made up of countless moments—big and small- that they’ve experienced side by side. Through every twist, turn, and chapter, they’ve always had each other.

Their love story began in October 1954 at a lively little spot called the Dancing Badger. Less than a year later, on September 3, 1955—at just 18 and 21 years old—they said “I do.” Now, after celebrating 70 incredible years of marriage surrounded by family, including their son, Mike, and daughter-in-law, Anita, they continue to write new chapters together.

Questions about senior living? We’re here to help.

Over the years, they’ve filled their lives with RV camping trips, walleye fishing excursions, game nights with friends, and travels during LeRoy’s military service.

When asked what they love most about each other, LeRoy smiled and said,

“She’s just perfect. She’s pretty and everything I could ever want in a girl. I love her!” Annette grinned back,

“He likes to have fun and do all the wonderful things together. Family has been very important. He’s just a good guy! And I still think he’s handsome.”

A New Chapter

After a few health setbacks, including heart attacks and falls, Annette and LeRoy realized it was time for a change—a way to feel safe and supported while keeping the independence they cherished. That’s when they found Edgewood Virginia.

Independent living didn’t mean giving anything up. It meant gaining the freedom to keep enjoying life together, surrounded by friends, caring staff, and opportunities for fun every single day.

Now, life looks a little different—but in the best possible way:
